A Great Weekend but a restless night

So this past weekend was a much needed two days off. Shannon and I took the opportunity to clean up the house, see the new Batman movie, see our new nephew and do some relaxing on the side. That being said, I slept really poorly last night. I think it was one of the worst nights of sleep I have had in the past 6 months. Fortunately I do not feel terribly tired today, just a bit foggy.

Ryder, Jeff and Abby's third son, is quite a little cutie. I ran into the usual situation where everyone seems to want me to hold the baby, when in reality I am so scared that something might go wrong I would rather not. It's not like I think I am going to hurt him or anything, but people don't mean to get in car accidents either, and they happen. I guess it is just if I break like a lamp or something, no big deal, it is replaceable. When you have someone else's fragile newborn in yor arms....you better not screw up. Anyway, it was actually strangely comfortable having a little newborn tucked in my arms like a football.

Shannon and I are getting closer and closer to buying a house. At some point this week I am going to do a review of the houses in our area and see if I can find any screaming deals. We found a house down the street that by no means is a starter home. It is a beautiful three bedroom house with a huge lot, but is well out of our price range. It is the kind of place we could live in for the next 20 years. There is no way we could buy it without some serious assistance, so that one is not going to happen.

It is funny, but we may be looking on the same street I lived on as a young child. We really like the area we live in, the houses are just a bit over our price range. So our options are to wait for the prices to come down a bit more, or look a little bit up the street where the houses are a bit smaller/older.

Anyway, possibly more later today as I am awaiting approval on some projects before diving in here at work.
